On February 29th, 2012 an F4 tornado struck before dawn in the town of Harrisburg, Il and continued on a path of destruction to Ridgway, Il. In all seven lives were lost and homes and businesses destroyed.
The people of southern Il. immediately responded to help their neighbors. In Carbondale and the little town of Cobden ,the musicians, businesses and artists organized a three day music event to raise awareness and money to benefit the tornado victims. I decided to donate a guitar and a fundraising website was launched to take donations. For every donation in $10 increments it will enter you for a chance at one of my guitars.
This is a project near and dear to my heart as I grew up in and around those areas and know people whose lives were changed as a result of that event. The winner of the guitar is Debbie Nave of Harrisburg, Il. Congratulations. The drawing was held May 26th at The Yellow Moon Cafe in Cobden, Il, at the monthly Wil Maring and Robert Bowlin concert. Local radio celebrity Union County Sally drew the winning ticket.
